What an exciting way to learn about our history! Barnaby village museum is a reconstructed 1920’s village. It has 31 one building plus one of Canada’s few remaining indoor carousels, a restored 1912 vintage carousel. Each horse is a work-of-art that was hand-carved and painted! Our students got to ride on this one of a kind, 100 year old legacy.
We also had the opportunity to get a glimpse of what it would be like to attend school in the 1920’s, with hard wooden benches, boys to one side girls to the other, and chalkboards again! It was interesting to explore a 1920’s village and see what the world was like all those years ago. Everyone came home with a smile and a little bit more knowledgeable of what life was like 95 years ago.
