Take Our Kids To Work Day

Take Our Kids to Work is an annual program in BC in which Grade 9 students spend the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer, experiencing and learning about the world of work. It is held each year on the first Wednesday of November. This year the date is Wednesday, November 1, 2017. The program supports career exploration and career readiness among Canadian public school students. Experiencing a “day in the life” of a professional within a workplace allows students to explore the world of work and helps them make informed educational decisions.

Our Grade 9 students will be participating in this event as part of their Health & Careers class. Your Grade 9 student should have talked about it with you already, and we will be spending some time in Health & Careers focusing our placement interests. We are looking for a variety of work placements for a total of 12 students. We are particularly interested in some medical placements. If you, or a relative of yours is in the medical profession and could take a student, please contact Miss Weber.

We are looking forward to this exciting opportunity for our students! For further information on the program, visit: http://www.thelearningpartnership.ca/what-we-do/student-programs/take-our-kids-to-work.
